Boss 405 Limb Issues
I’ve had the Boss 405 for four seasons. It’s harvested several deer and generally consistent bolt patterns. I like the adjustable butt stock for smaller youth hunters. However the limbs are a major safety problem. The limbs only last about two seasons, then they delaminate and crack. I estimate the limbs will last roughly 30-40 shots before they break. At least that’s the experience I’ve had with two separate sets of limbs replaced by authorized dealers. Killer Instinct does warrant the defective parts, but it’ll still cost about $90 for the dealer’s labor costs. If Killer Instinct focused on product quality and durability then I’d buy more of their product, but lack of concern of quality is a major concern for product user’s safety. Someone will get hurt with these faulty limbs.

Great for 50 year old hunter
This is my second crossbow in the last 15 years and I love it! I love the scope for my older eyes! It's accurate enough to split arrows at 30 yards. The only complaints are: The safety switch is loud The adjustable butt stock is loose fitting The trigger pull is too long. I'm using a combined weight 410 to 415 grain bolts. I'm considering moving to a heavier broadhead and field tips. 2 of the 3 bolts that come with the Boss 405 are pretty accurate at 40 yards with 105 grain field tip. A friend came over and we did some testing and the Boss 405 shot a tiny more accurate than my friends $1,000+ American made crossbow. The Bosd 405 is made in Taiwan.

Boss 405
First crossbow I’ve ever owned and only the second I’ve ever shot. Bought it locally at a Dunhams a couple years ago (sale price was $279 if I remember correctly). Couldn’t be happier, I can’t imagine more bang for the buck. Scope is good, has held true for 3 years now. Crossbow fires super quiet for the price range. Dropped first buck I shot at, about 40yrds, rage broad heads.

Fun shooting with plenty of power
I purchased this from a local dealer here in Sparta Michigan and I couldn't be happier with the performance. But a person must remember that kinetic energy is more important than having the fastest FPS. Using KI's heaviest arrows will prevent the limbs from splinting. You need to be shooting over 500 grains of weight. I swapped the factory scope with Killer Instinct's Max view MV-36 and this crossbow will put meat in the freezer. It shoots both fixed blade broadheads or mechanical equally the same. Snatch this crossbow up when you can and have some fun shooting outside where men belong.

Better Than Expected
I originally purchased this as a backup crossbow to my Centerpoint 425 Patriot. But after shooting it and sighting in my Hawke XB30 Pro scope, I decided to make it my first choice. Listen up everyone- if you want to avoid your limbs from cracking, be sure to shoot over 500 grains of weight. I switched to 150 grain broadheads and the FOC is spot on. I can effectively shoot out to 70 yards with this and it's a blast to use. I bought the DSC for it but it's easy enough to use the rope cocker. Do yourself a favor a buy the crossbow!! It will keep your freezer full of fresh venison.

Boss 405
Premium crossbow for the money. I replaced the scope with the killer instinct lumix speedring . I use heavier pile driver bolts for accuracy and to preserve the limbs cables and string. With 125 grain tips for total 467 grain bolts. Drives tacks and is quiet.. love the setup..

Boss 405
I bought this crossbow after reading many reviews and narrowing my choices down to three. The barnett and centerpoint bows that fell within this price range felt good but not as good as the boss did. Assembly was easy and the instruction are great. The scope which I read was the worst part of the package is actually not bad at all the clarity is great and yardage markings are pretty true to aim once dialed in correctly. The bow feels great to shoot and has awesome speed even when paired with 425g bolts. I have shot groupings at each yardage marker on the scope that are within 2 inches and thats using steady sticks and not a bench rest. Shot my hunting blades and are holding the same pattern. The noise from this bow is no different than many of the higher end bows. Overall very pleased with this bow.
