    Swat X1 Crossbow

Posted by Lou South East Texas on Aug 22nd 2024

I went from a PSE compound bow to a crossbow in 2015. I have owned 5 different Crossbows. I still own 4 crossbows. My favorite crossbow was the 2015 model Tenpoint Titan. I still have it and use it. It is easy to crank. It is accurate and I have harvested many deer with it. My complaints about it is it is very large and slow. It was advertised to shoot about 317 fps. With the factory arrows it would shoot that speed. I wanted a faster crossbow. I bought two different Carbon Express Crossbows. They were faster. The accuracy was almost as good as the TenPoint. The cocking crank was cumbersome and while smaller than the TenPoint it was still bulkey. I went to a Wicked Ridge RDX400 reverse draw crossbow. With a 400 grain arrow I averaged 375 fps. The trigger pull is really hard and accuracy is less than the above mentioned bows. The bow string presses so hard on the rail that the servings give out quickly. Since the SWAT X1 is so tiny and is advertised at 405 fps I bought one. With a 400 grain arrow my chronograph reads an average of 379 fps. With the 480 grain arrows I plan to hunt with, the speed is 350 fps. That is slower than all of my other crossbows except the old TenPoint Titan. The hand crank cocking device takes more strength than any of the other crossbows. It is also a seperate piece of equipment which you need to carry or leave attached to the crossbow. Now my SWAT X1 has the Model 1020 Lumix Speed Ring 1.5-5x32 IR-E crossbow scope. With the speed ring set at 350 fps, the field of view is so small, it is very difficult to find your target. The scope is the worst fieture of this crossbow. When it comes to accuracy, The SWAT X1 is the most accurate crossbow I own. Today I shot a 450 grain arrow at 40 yards. To make sure I had corectly zeroed the xbow I fired the same arrow again. It went into the same hole made by the first shot. Maybe I can figure out some way to just ignore the speed ring and shoot at two power.

    Great bow overall

I love he Swat X1. The product is all as expected. My only complaint is the material on the butt stock. The soft material where i have my cheek weld. After only three shots the material is already ripped. I’m very careful when handling the bow. I think this material should be something different. I’d expect I’ll have to replace it or glue something different where i goes eventually. Besides that small detail the rest of the product is fantastic.

I absolutely love this crossbow. Looks GREAT and is very accurate. Be sure to replace the Moon Nocks with ARC Nocks if you want to avoid string breakage.

I own the original Swat and love it. Love the X1 even more. Smooth trigger, accurate! Must have for spot and stalks. I do upgrade my nocks on the arrows to aluminum. Thanks again

Awesome crossbow, only gripe is the fletchin’ on the included arrows are wimpy and tear easily. One gave up before it had ever been shot.

This is my second one. Only shot 20 times so far but shoots great. The first one I ordered came from Amazon and had to return it.

    Swat X1 first impressions

Posted by Erik T on Sep 30th 2023

Wow!! Ordered online so my first look was when it arrived a few days later. Just the right size. Feels balanced and was assembled minus the scope and quiver mount... 10 minutes and good to go. Was a little harder to draw back than I expected but no issue. First shot at 15 yards on the money! My only complaint so far, is the channel at end of barrel is narrow so you need to select a broadhead that will clear. A longer bolt @ 22" did not help. Ramcat 125s, that I was planning on using, will not work. A minor inconvenience...
